Sandalwood Essential Oil 10ml

Latin name: Amyris Balsamifera

Part of the plant used: Madera and Ramas

Origin: Jamaica

Extraction method: steam distillation

Amyris's essential oil is also called sandalwood oil from the West Indies because its scent is reminiscent of sandalwood. It is obtained by vapor distillation of the bark and branches of the Amyris balsamifera tree. Due to its high acceptance content, this wood is burned alone, like a candle, and for this reason the local population calls it candle wood. It's a less expensive alternative to pure sandalwood.

This oil has been used to clean up wounds and treat flu and diarrhea. It is said to be very effective in relieving cystitis and vaginal infections. When used in a vaporizer, it helps to alleviate anxiety and depression, insomnia and acts as an aphrodisiac, relieving impotence and frigidity. It is used to treat coughs and colds and bronchitis. Its calming properties are said to help during meditation. It is also a muscle relaxant and emollient.

The botanical origin of the tree that produced this acceptance was unknown until 1886, when the main differences between this plant and real sandalwood were identified through a microscopic examination of the leaves. The Amyris balsamifera tree grows wild in Haiti. Due to their healing and aromatic properties, essential oils were considered more valuable than prayer for ancient humans.
