The essential oil of mejorana is distilled through the vapor of the Thymus mastichina plant, which has a hairy stem, oval leaves and small white flowers in clusters. Every plant exudes a strong aroma. This plant is actually wild thyme, but it is known as a Spanish wild mejorana. It belongs to the family of lamináceas de España and it is not the same as the best sweet or French one; Nor is it oregano, which is also called wild mejorana.
